On March 29th, 2024, the Ministry of Transport issued the announcement of Amendment No.1 of six transportation industry standards (namely JT/T 617-2018 Road Transport Rules for Dangerous Goods Part 1: General Rules). The release of this revised list marks the further improvement and update of China's standards for road transport of dangerous goods, which is of great significance for ensuring the safety of road transport of dangerous goods and promoting the healthy development of road transport of dangerous goods.
Add UN number of sodium ion battery.
This revision of JT/T617 is also formally in line with international laws and regulations. Sodium ion batteries are officially listed as the ninth category of dangerous goods, and two new entries, UN3551 and UN3552, are added to JT/T617.3.
Note: According to special regulation 401, UN3551 and UN3552 are only applicable to sodium ion batteries using organic electrolyte; If it is a traditional aqueous electrolyte sodium battery, it should be classified as UN2795, which belongs to Class 8 corrosive products.
Add UN number of large lithium battery energy storage system.
In this revision, UN3536 transport item is added, and the technical content is fully in line with international regulations.
New transport marks and labels for lithium batteries
JT/T617 This revision introduces the transport label for lithium batteries.
The 9A-style transport label of lithium battery is added, and the corresponding 9 types of transport labels need to be affixed to the outer packaging.
